The Kolkata Knight Riders strengthened their hopes of a place in the IPL play offs thanks to a 32 run victory over the Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The visitors sealed their 9th victory of the tournament thanks to a batting collapse by the Indians who slumped from 66-2 to 108 all out with five balls to spare in their attempts to chase down the Knight Riders total of 140-7.
Sachin Tendulkar (27) and Dinesh Karthik (20) got the run chase off to a good start but once the pair had been dismissed the Indians lost wickets at regular intervals to slump to a disappointing defeat.
The results means the Indians will go into their last game of the group stages against the Rajasthan Royals to ensure their place in the knock out stages of the tournament.
It proved to be a successful night for the Knight Riders who are now just one victory away from guaranteeing a top two finish and a place in the first qualifying match of the knock out stages.
