Graeme Smith has won the toss, his fourth in a row, ahead of tonights Twenty20 International and has decided to bat first on a pitch which should do a bit in the second innings making batting become difficult chasing a score.
Zaheer picked up two for 15 while Agarkar claimed two for 10 as India, playing their first Twenty20 match, made good use of helpful bowling conditions after the hosts won the toss and chose to bat.
South Africa's top scorer was Albie Morkel, who hit three sixes in his 27.
Morkel helped the home team recover after slumping to 64 for five in the 12th over.
Justin Kemp chipped in with 22 while Johan van der Wath scored 20 and captain Graeme Smith made 16.
