The Kiwis will don the traditional beige uniforms of the 1980's and have promised to sport moustaches and hair styles of the same era.
But whilst the match will clearly have a light-hearted atmosphere surrounding it, coach John Bracewell may have some set goals for the occasion.
The 20 overs aside match will provide the Black Caps bowlers a good opportunity to face the world champions in a situation that resembles the final overs of a full-on one-day international.
It has been an area where Black Caps teams in the past have struggled and, with the high-powered offence of the Australian batting order on show in a shortened environment, bowlers will be under immense pressure.
Perhaps it is this reason that former All Black Jeff Wilson has been included in the 13-man squad.
