Misbah-ul Haq hit 87 to set Pakistan on their way to a 102-run win over Bangladesh in their first ever Twenty20 international on home soil.

Misbah put on 78 for the third wicket with Younus Khan (47) and 63 for the fourth with captain Shoaib Malik (37) as Pakistan reached 203-5.

With opener Nazimuddin hitting 42, the visitors reached 85-2 in the 12th over but lost eight wickets for 16 runs.

Mansoor Amjad took three wickets in the 16th over to complete the rout.

Misbah hit five towering sixes in a 53-ball innings.

Pakistan, who blanked the visitors 5-0 in the preceding one-day series, lost openers Salman Butt and Kamran Akmal in paceman Mashrafe Mortaza's first over.

But Misbah put the team back on track and Younis matched him stroke for stroke, hitting seven boundaries during his 28-ball knock.

Misbah lifted Razzak for a six over long-on to pass his previous highest Twenty20 score of 66 made against Australia.
