India cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and elected to bowl against Sri Lanka in the first of two Twenty20 internationals between the two teams.

Tamil Nadu's Ashok Dinda will make his debut for India but Dinesh Karthik, Sudeep Tyagi, Ravichandran Ashwin and S Sreesanth all miss out.

Sreesanth missed all of yesterdays practice session after picking up a bug and India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni wasn't certain if Sreesanth would play today.

"He is not well. We are hoping he will get well before the game," said Dhoni.
