A back injury as forced Shaun Marsh out of Australia’s squad who will play two Twenty20 Internationals against New Zealand later this month.

"Shaun Marsh injured his back during the warm-up for the third ODI against the West Indies in Sydney and while he continues to improve there are still some signs of the injury" Australian physiotherapist Alex Kountouris said.

"He will continue to be monitored before a decision is made on his availability for the one-day component of the tour to New Zealand."

Veteran batsman Michael Hussey will take Marsh’s place in the squad.

"Mike Hussey has shown excellent form throughout this Australian summer, is well equipped for Twenty20 cricket and thoroughly deserves this opportunity to push for selection in the World Twenty20 to be held in the West Indies during May this year" NSP Chairman Andrew Hilditch said.
