New Zealand skipper Daniel Vettori has won the toss and decided to bat first against Sri Lanka in the second game of their historic two game series in the United States.

After last nights disappointing game which the Kiwis won by 28 runs both teams will be looking to improve with the bat after the bowlers controlled the game on a slow wicket.

"We found out yesterday that the wicket slows up. We want to put up a total. We targeted 150 and as the innings went on we realised that 120-130 would be a good score,” said Vettori at the toss.

The Kiwis have made two changes to the last nights team; Gareth Hopkins and Jacob Oram come into the line up to replace for Scott Styris and Martin Guptill.

Sri Lanka have also made two changes; Sanath Jayasuriya comes in for Suraj Randiv and Dinesh Chandimal replaces Chinthika Jayasinghe.
