Tickets go on sale next week for the Twenty20 Cup Finals Day at Trent Bridge and Nottinghamshire's Chris Read is determined to book his place for the big event.
Read is very aware that Nottinghamshire have failed to do themselves justice in the three-year history of the exciting new format but he is looking to be there on Saturday August 12 as a player - not as part of a sell-out crowd.
He said: "We haven't set the world alight in Twenty20 but the support and atmosphere for this type of cricket is tremendous and I cannot think of anything better than to be involved on Finals Day at our home ground.
"Winning the Championship has given us the taste for silverware. We're looking to lift our one-day standards and take the challenge of moving forward in Twenty20 very seriously."
It is the second time in four years that Notts have been selected to host the thrills and spills of the most exciting day in cricket's domestic calendar, with the two semi-finals and final all to be played on Saturday, with a reserve day on Sunday.
Tickets go on sale to the general public at 9.30am on Monday December 5 by phone or in person only at the Trent Bridge ticket office and are bound to be snapped up quickly.
Seats cost £35 for adults and £15 for under 16s in the family-friendly Fox Road Stand, which has been designated alcohol and smoke-free, while bookings elsewhere on the ground range from £25 to £45 for adults and £15 for under 16s.
Nottinghamshire marketing manager Claire Harrison said: "The inaugural Finals Day at Trent Bridge in 2003 was a great success and we're all looking forward to welcoming cricket fans from across the country in August.
"We're expecting plenty of calls on Monday and with a percentage of seats being held back for supporters of the four semi-finalists, anyone interested in booking their place should move quickly.
"The Fox Road Stand was alcohol and smoke-free for our major matches in 2005 and it proved a big hit with spectators, especially families and school parties.
"Anyone who wants to buy alcohol will be able to do so from the tented bar and TV area beneath the Stand without taking it to their seats."
