India cruised to an 8 wicket victory over Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club to record a 2-0 series victory in their two Twenty20 International series.
Having been set a total of 141 for victory India made light work of the run chase with Suresh Raina scoring an impressive 72 from just 44 balls.
Despite losing Naman Ojha (10) early on Raina and Murali Vijay (46) built a second wicket partnership of 79 to set up Indians victory.
Although Vijay fell just short of a well deserved half century Raina remained at the crease to record his milestone and record his second highest Twenty20 International score for India.
Having won the toss India put Zimbabwe into bat and it was a decision which paid off almost instantly after Hamilton Masakadza (2) and Chamu Chibhabha (7) were both dismissed inside the first 6 overs to leave the home side 21-1.
Despite being two wickets down Zimbabwe responded brightly with Brendan Taylor (27) and Tatenda Taibu sharing a third wicket partnership of 43 before Taylor was dismissed by Amit Mishra in the 12th over.
Taibu was joined at the crease by Charles Coventry (28) and the pair built another positive partnership for Zimbabwe which contributed 43 runs to the home sides total before Coventry was dismissed by Ashok Dinda.
Eric Chigumbura enjoyed a cameo innings which lasted 6 balls which saw him score 18 runs including 2 sixes before he was caught by Suresh Raina.
Taibu and Greg Lamb saw out the last 8 balls adding another 12 runs but the total proved to easy for India to chase down.
