Kevin Pietersen has announced he has been dropped from the England team for the upcoming Twenty20 internationals against Pakistan at the SWALEC Stadium in Cardiff which start on Sunday.

Pietersen made the announcement via Twitter; before removing the message 20 minutes later, "Done for rest of summer!! Man of the World Cup T20 and dropped from the T20 side too. Its a f**k up!!".

Despite suffering a disappointing summer which saw Pietersen managed just one half century; his omission from England’s Twenty20 squad is a major surprise.

The big hitting batsman’s was one of England’s biggest stars as they claimed their first ever ICC major world title during Mays Twenty20 World Cup in the West Indies, Pietersen’s performances earned him the man of the tournament award.
