Collingwood eying Twenty20 record streak

England Twenty20 skipper Paul Collingwood is aiming to create more history when the t20 World Champions take on Australia at the Adelaide Oval on Wednesday night.

Having already tasted Ashes glory, Collingwood now wants his side to become the first team to record eighth consecutive t20 International victories.

"We've won seven on the trot and will set a new record if we make it eight," said Collingwood during a press conference in Adelaide today.

"The guys are very focused and ambitious. It's not easy to win that many games on the trot in Twenty20. They are another two huge games for us leading into the World Cup and the guys are looking forward to it," he added.

"Australia always want to beat England; and we always want to beat them. Whatever form of the game it is against Australia we are desperate to win."

"We've got the momentum and obviously don't want to let Australia back in."

England’s unbeaten streak began in the t20 World Cup in the Caribbean where victories over Pakistan, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Australia secured them their first ever ICC limited overs title.

They followed this up with two commanding victories over a disappointing Pakistan in the summer before attentions turned to defending the Ashes in Australia.
