Disappointing Tigers suffer heavy defeat

Pakistan got their tour of Bangladesh off to the perfect start thanks to a comprehensive 50 run victory over the Tigers in a one sided game at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.

Faced with a victory target of 136, the hosts slumped to just 23-5 after 8.1 overs before a mini revival lead by Nasir Hossain (35) helped Bangladesh record a total of 85-9-.

Shoaib Malik (2-7) and Mohammad Hafeez (2-11) lead the way to help Pakistan complete their 5th straight victory over the hosts and their 4th straight in 2011.

Having won the toss Mohammad Hafeez (25) and Misbah-ul-Haq (21) helped Pakistan record a total of 135-7 despite some impressive bowling from Alok Kapali (2-12) and Shakib Al Hasan (2-24)

With such a small total to chase, Bangladesh would have been confident of snapping their losing streak against the visitors but a combination of poor batting and excellent fielding help Pakistan secure victory.
