Shane Watson and Micheal Hussey both scored half centuries to help Australia comfortable chase down the West Indies victory target of 151 at the Beausejour Stadium in St Lucia.

Watson lead the way, smashing five boundaries and six sixes to put the Aussies in control early after the early loss of David Warner (0) who was bowled by Krishmar Santokie (1-27) in the opening over.

Despite that dismissal, Watson powered the Aussies towards victory with a quickfire 69 before he was dismissed by Garey Mathurin (1-33) at the start of the 13th over.

With Watson back in the dugout Hussey completed his own half century to help Australia complete victory with 11 balls remaining to take a 1-0 series lead with one game to play on Friday in Bridgetown.

Having batted first the West Indies recorded a total of 150-7 thanks in no small part to a typically destructive innings from Kieron Pollard who smashed two boundaries and five sixes during a 26 ball innings which saw him score 54 runs.
