Heavy rain saves the Kiwis from heavy defeat

Aaron Moores | cricket20

Persistent heavy rain at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium saved New Zealand from suffering a heavy defeat against Sri Lanka in their one off t20 International.

Having waited for over an hour to start the match because of rain the Kiwis were restricted to a total of just 74-7 from 14 overs after they were put into bat by Sri Lanka skipper Angelo Matthews.

With only 75 to chase from 14 overs Sri Lanka looked certain to secure victory before the rain returned with the hosts 6-0 after 12 balls of their run chase.
