Early wobble not enough to derail Pakistan

Pakistan bounced back from the loss of three early wickets to seal a five wicket victory against India in the first of two t20 international clashes between the two countries in India.

Despite slumping to just 12-3, Mohammad Hafeez (61) and Shoaib Malik (57) ensured Pakistan would chase down India’s total of 133-9 with two balls to spare thanks to a 4th wicket stand of 106.

Ishant Sharma (1-23) kept the tension high when he removed Mohammad Hafeez in the 18th over but Shoaib Malik remained calm to see Pakistan home with some help from Shahid Afridi (3).

It proved to be a disappointing day for India despite three early wicket s for Bhuvneshwar Singh (3-9) and an opening stand of 77 from Gautam Gambhir (43) and Ajinkya Rahane (42).

Yuvraj Singh (10) and Suresh Raina (10) bot reached double figures but with wickets falling at regular intervals after the loss of Rahane in the 11th over India were restricted to a total of just 133-9 which proved not enough.
