Sri Lanka ended their tour of Australia on a high thanks to a 2-0 t20 International series victory over the Aussies after a tense three run Duckworth Lewis victory at the MCG in Melbourne.
Having recorded a total of 161-4 Sri Lanka looked on course for a simple victory before heavy rain forced the players of the pitch for over an hour and changed the course of the game as the Aussies though their way back into contention.
George Bailey led the way with quick fire 45 to help Australia almost chase down a Duckworth Lewis victory target of 122 with 62 runs needed from 30 deliveries when the players came back out to play.
Shaun Marsh (47) offered support to his skipper but man of the match Thisara Perera held his nerve to bowl a bye from the final ball of the match to seal a tense victory for the Sri Lankanís
It proved to be a good evening for Perera who smashed 35 runs from just 15 balls which included three boundaries and two sixes along Mahela Jayawardene (61) to help Sri Lanka posts a total of 161-4.
