A massive Rose Bowl crowd of 20,000 witnessed a thrilling Twenty20 international between England and Sri Lanka - but one that ended in a heartbreaking defeat for Kevin Pietersen and Co.

The night was declared a big success for Hampshire as they hosted easily their biggest-ever crowd and switched on their world-class floodlights for a match for the first time.
