The Auckland Aces easily beat the Central Stags in a comfortable 7 wicket victory which handed the Stags their first defeat in this years HRV Cup.
After winning the toss and electing to bowl the Aces were set a target of 155 for victory at Colin Maiden Park and they cruised to that total losing just 3 wickets.
Gareth Hopkins lead the run chase hitting an unbeaten 71 from just 44. He was partnered with Scott Styris who scored 45 from just 36 balls.
Earlier Colin de Grandhomme bowled well for the Aces taking 3 wickets and conceding just 22 runs to set up the victory for the Aces.
