Stewart helps Wizards to stun Volts

Shannan Stewart smashed 56 runs off just 33 balls to help the Canterbury Wizards beat the Otago Volts by 6 wickets at the University Oval in Dunedin.

Set a total of 185 for victory the Wizards batsman were untroubled by the Volts bowlers with Stewart and Peter Fulton batting with ease as the Wizards made easy work of the run chase.

Fulton (39) enjoyed a 40 run partnership off just 15 balls with Craig McMillan which set up the win.

After their innings the Volts looked in total control thanks to Brendon McCullum's 64 and Craig Cumming's 53, the loss was the second the Volts have suffered in this years HRV Cup and despite setting a such a big total they will be disappointed they were unable to defend it.
