Jimmy Adams stared with the ball claiming five wickets to help the Auckland Aces seal a comprehensive 50 run victory over a disappointing Central Stags at Colin Maiden Park in Auckland.
The medium pacer tore through the Stags middle order to claim figure’s of 5-20 against the defending champs just 24 hours after they started their defence with a 78 run victory against the Northern Knights.
Faced with a run chase of just 155 the Stags struggled with the bat slumping to a total of just 36-4 before Adams made his mark to seal victory for the Aces.
Having won the toss Dusan Hakaraia (43) lead the way for the home side with Lou Vincent (27) and Adams (23) offering assistants to help the Aces reach 154-8.
Despite the low total the Aces never looked in trouble as the Stags stumbled to defeat with 4 overs to spare.
