The Northern Knights claimed their first victory in this years HRV Twenty20 Cup thanks to a crushing 8 wicket victory over the Auckland Aces at Colin Maiden Park in Auckland.
The visitors secured a comprehensive victory after reducing the Aces to a total of just 74 before Brad Hodge (37) and David Hussey (17) easily chased down the victory target with 10 overs reaming.
Having won the toss the Aces got off to a torrid time losing 6 wickets inside the first 5 overs to slump to just 21-6 with opener Colin de Grandhomme (18) offering the only resistant’s.
Bradley Cachopa added 26 valuable runs from the middle order before Bradley Scott rode through the tail to leave the Knights facing a run chase of just 75.
