Peter McGlashan smashed a quick fire half century to help the Northern Knights secure a comprehensive 54 run victory over the Wellington Firebirds at the Basin Reserve in Wellington.
McGlashan smashed 6 fours and 4 sixes during a 31 ball innings adding 66 runs after arriving at the crease with the Knights 132-5 with only 5 overs remaining.
With Brad Hodge (51) and Anton Devcich (48) also punishing some wayward bowling the Knights cruised to an imposing total of 201-6.
In reply the Firebirds struggled with the bat thanks to some impressive bowling from Bradely Scott who picked up 3 wickets to help restrict the home side to a total of just 147.
Neal Parlane (24) offered some hope at the top of the order but with no batsman reaching 30 the Firebirds slumped to a comprehensive defeat.
