Warner leads Knights to 8 wicket victory

David Warner smashed an unbeaten 52 to help the Northern Knights cruise to a comprehensive 8 wicket victory over the Canterbury Knights at Seddon Park in Hamilton.

Faced with a victory target of 139 the Knights cruised to victory with over 4 overs to go despite their innings reduced to 18 overs because of rain delays before the game started.

Warnerís innings included 3 fours and 3 sixes as the Aussie helped the Knights record their 4th victory in this years HRV Twenty20 cup. Daniel Flynn (45) and Herschelle Gibbs (34) offered support in a one sided game.

Having been put into bat the Wizards suffered a nightmare start losing openers Rob Nicol (6) and Peter Fulton (2) inside the first four overs. Ryan ten Doeschate (35) offered some resistantís but the Wizards slumped to a total of just 138-8.
