The Blackcaps star picked up the baton from Brendon McCullum, acting as an opener, as they sought to help coach Dave Nosworthy to an unprecedented double.
South African Nosworthy helped his former Titans side to their national Twenty20 title last year and is aiming for back-to-back wins in different countries in the short version of the game.
The BLACKCAPS wicket-keeper hit a forceful 25 from only 13 deliveries as the hosts began their reply to Otago’s 153 for eight.
Then, McMillan ultimately fell to McCullum’s brother Nathan after a 32-ball innings which saw six boundaries.
Valuable innings from Chris Harris (29), Peter Fulton (23) and Chris Cairns (15) helped the Wizards surpass their target in 16.4 overs.
