Jones and opening partner Paul Hitchcock put on 61 for the first wicket in answer to ND’s 112 all out from 19.2 overs.
Hitchcock set the pace, rattling off 37 – including three sixes and two fours - from 26 balls as Auckland made 114 within 15.1 overs.
Martin Guptil, a member of the Under-19 World Cup squad, made an unbeaten 29 to help his side to victory.
