Warriors cricket captain Robin Peterson will be hoping Justin Kreusch can inspire his colleagues to emulate his batting form when they take on the Free State Eagles in a vital Standard Bank Pro20 Series fixture at Sahara Oval St George's on Wednesday.

The tall Warriors right-hander has top-scored in both matches so far, and was sensational in scoring 73 out off 112 against the Titans in Benoni.

But the lack of support has been a major problem, leading to defeats in their opening matches.

That means Wednesday's game is simply a must-win one for the home side, because another loss will deny them any chance of reaching the semifinals.

The Eagles lost the only game they have played, but they have a match in hand over the Warriors and their situation is not quite as desperate.

Nonetheless, a second defeat will not be on their agenda and they will come out firing to boost themselves on the log.

They will not have key all-rounder Johan van der Wath, but the Eagles have a dangerous set of batsmen in MornÚ van Wyk, Davey Jacobs and Loots Bosman who will only be too keen to take the attack to the Warriors.

The home side won the last encounter between the two teams, outsmarting the Eagles at the same venue in their semifinal clash last season.

The Warriors spinners played pivotal roles then, but of the three, only Robin Peterson will be there on Wednesday. Pieter Strydom has retired, and Johan Botha is in Australia with the national side.

It will be interesting to see what impact Peterson has on proceedings today, as well as promising Eagles off-spinner Thandi Tshabalala and their captain Nicky BojÚ.
