In spite of propping up the Standard Bank Pro20 Series log going into the final round of league games on Wednesday evening having won just one out of four, the Titans are by no means out of the running for a semifinal spot.
As things stand, their destiny is in their own hands and it isn't. First off, on Wednesday they have to beat the Dolphins at Willowmoore Park in Benoni and hope that the high-riding and unbeaten Lions beat second-bottom Warriors in East London (also being played on Wednesday). Should the wishes of the Titans come true, it would ensure them a fourth-place finish on the log and a place in the semis.
That, however, is all a dream for the Titans at the moment. On Wednesday they face the task of having to beat a Dolphins side showing some form.
The Titans have only managed to beat the Eagles so far in the competition with their SuperSport Series form - they went through competition unbeaten to clinch the title - having deserted them. But the team have admitted that they have been playing below par and are have been working at turning things around.
Against the Dolphins, the Titans have picked their best available squad with Martin van Jaarsveld, Gerald Dros, Gulam Bodi, Morne Morkel and Pierre Joubert all capable of match-winning performances.
