The Chevrolet Warriors beat the Nashua Cape Cobras by 10 runs to win their best of three semi final 2-0 to advance to the Standard Bank Pro20 Series Final and claim a place in this years Twenty20 Champions League.
After losing game one on Friday the Cobras knew they had to beat the Warriors at Newlands in Cape Town to stand any chance of reaching the Pro20 final.
Chasing a total of 122 for victory the Cobras got off to a poor start slipping to 9-2 before skipper Andrew Puttick (22) and Justin Ontong (28) built a third wicket partnership of 53 to give the home side hope.
With a victory now starting to become a possibility Puttick was trapped LBW by spinner Nicky Boje before Ontong fell in the next over to leave the Cobras 65-4.
Richard Levi (1) soon followed and even though all rounder Justin Kemp smashed a quick fire 29 the Cobras came up just short.
Earlier after winning the toss and electing to bat the Warriors were indebted to Craig Thyssen and Johan Botha who’s seventh wicket partnership of 58 helped the visitors recover from 63-6 and set the Cobras a target of 122.
