Lions see off Titans to claim Pro20 final spot

The bizhub Highveld Lions beat the Nashua Titans by 10 runs to claim a place in this years Twenty20 Champions League and set up a clash against the Chevrolet Warriors in the Standard Bank Pro20 Series final on Friday.

Richard Cameron picked up 4 wickets as the Lions successfully defended a total of 186 at SuperSport Park in Centurion to spark wild celebration amongst the players.

The Titans got their run chase of to the perfect start as openers Blake Snijman and Gulam Bodi enjoyed a first wicket stand of 83 before he was run out for 55.

Seven balls later Bodi was dismissed sending the home side into a downward spiral as they lost another 4 wickets to leave their hopes of forcing a third game in their best of three semi final fad away.

Earlier, having been put into bat by the Titans the Lions scored their highest total of the season thanks to a superb knock by Jonathan Vandiar who smashed 68 runs from just 43 balls.

Vandiarís innings included s fours and 3 sixes to set the Lions on their way to victory.
