Bayliss happy with build-up
Sri Lanka coach Trevor Bayliss claims his first three weeks at the helm have been "great" as preparations continue for the inaugural World Twenty20 in South Africa. Bayliss is now hoping to arrange some warm-up matches ahead of his team's opening Group C match against Kenya in Johannesburg on September 14. "I hope we can fit in a game or two in the coming days," said Bayliss. "It's been three weeks since I started working with the guys and we are just falling into a set pattern getting to know each other. Things look great at present." Muttiah Muralitharan was ruled out of the tournament on Saturday through injury, and Bayliss is hoping to have the star spinner back soon. "We are still awaiting Muralitharan's return to the island on Sunday, to ascertain how bad his injury is," the Australian added. "We hope he will be back bowling without much delay." |
