Windies aim for Kenya warm up victory
The West Indies have been assessing their opponents for the warm-up matches, as they continue preparations ahead of their opening match of the Twenty20 World Cup next week. The regional side will face Kenya in the first warm-up match today before turning their attention to New Zealand today. They are preparing for their opening match of the tournament against hosts South Africa at the New Wanderers Stadium on Tuesday. "It's a bit difficult because we don't get to see much of them (Kenya). We will be concentrating on doing the things we can control and setting those processes right and setting ourselves targets and looking for benchmarks rather than specifically looking at the opposition," head coach David Moore said yesterday Moore said they were wary of the threat the Black Caps posed, noting their big hitters offered them a huge advantage. "We know that they can be quite a dangerous side," he said. Opening batsman Chris Gayle and all-rounder Dwayne Bravo will miss today's game. Gayle is struggling with a bruised knee while Bravo has been sidelined with a "flu-like" virus over the past few days. |
