More World Cup tickets go on sale

The huge interest in the Twenty20 World Cup cricket has prompted the organisers to release a new batch of tickets which go on sale on Thursday morning.

The first allocation of tickets went on sale last June and were sold out within hours of being made available.

More tickets are being released to allow fans of the Associate countries - Ireland, Scotland and Holland - to attend the tournament, which will run from June 5-21 with matches taking place at Lords, The Oval and Trent Bridge.

We saw unprecedented interest when the first allocation of tickets went on sale in June 2008 with all those match days selling out in hours, tournament director Steve Elworthy said.

Tickets can also be purchased from Thursday via www.icc-cricket.com.
