India make easy work of Pakistan
Rohit Sharma (80) and Gautam Gambhir (52) guided India to a thumping victory over Pakistan by 9 wickets in the ICC World Twenty20 warm-up match at the Oval.
Chasing a target of 159 runs, Indian openers played brilliant strokes to reach the target easily losing only one wicket. Rohit Sharma scored 80 runs off 53 balls to take the game away from the oppositions. Another opener Gambhir decided to stay at the wicket to steer India to a victory. The Delhi batsman scored 52 runs off 47 balls.
The Pakistani bowlers were never in the game.
Earlier, Pakistan got off to a flier but India's disciplined bowling unit staged a remarkable comeback to restrict them to 158 for six in the ICC World Twenty20 warm-up match.
Despite losing an early wicket, Pakistan cruised to 45 in just over four overs before losing three wickets without a single run added to the score. However, cameos from Ahmed Shehzad (25), Younis Khan (32), Misbah-ul Haq (37 not out) and Yasir Arafat (25 not out) ensured they crossed the 150-mark.
