New Zealand survive Scotland scare


New Zealand won the match against Scotland by seven wickets in its opening match of the Twenty20 World Cup.

New Zealand won the match with 15 runs per over.

Jesse Ryder scored 31 out of 12 balls with the help of three fours and two sixers; whereas, McCullum hit 18 out of seven balls the help of four boundaries.

Scott Styris and Jacob Oram both made eight runs each. Taylor hit 21 runs out of 10 balls.

Wright and Watson got one wicket each.

Earlier, Scotland gave New Zealand 90-run target by hammering blistering 89 runs at the loss of four wickets in the seven overs.

Kyle Coetzer was the highest scorer with 33 runs and stood till the last ball. Coetzer faced 15 balls and hit 33 runs with the help of three fours and two sixers.

Navdeep Poonia and Ryan Watson both made 27 runs each.

Ian Butler of New Zealand got three wickets. The match was delayed and restricted to seven overs.
