Abdul Rehman called up to Pakistan squad

Twenty20 World Cup champions Pakistan have called up left-arm spinner Abdul Rehman to their Twenty20 World Cup squad..

Rehman was chosen ahead of rookie fast bowler Mohammad Irfan to replace Umar Gul who has failed to recover from a shoulder injury he picked up during a training camp at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore earlier this month.

"ICC tournament rules state clearly a team can only take a replacement for an injured player from its list of 30 probables. Since Irfan was not in the 30 he could not be included," said Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ejaz Butt.

"Normally in T20 cricket no role is seen for a left-arm spinner. But I am in supreme form and doing well in domestic cricket. If I get a chance I will make my mark," he added.
