Afghanistan fight back to claim victory

Mohammad Nabi and Asghar Stanikzai lead Afghanistan to victory thanks to a 5th wicket partnership of 66 to seal a 5 wicket victory over Ireland.

The pair came together in the 12th over after Afghanistan had been reduced to 66-4. With defeat looming they amazingly fought back building a match winning partnership.

Having been set a target of 134 by the Irish Afghanistan got off to a terrible start losing two early wickets as they struggled against the Irish new ball bowlers.

Noor Ali and Mohammad Shahzad soon followed to leave Afghanistan in deep trouble before Mohammad Nabi and Asghar Stanikzai came to the Afghans rescue.

Earlier having won the toss the Irish lost four earlier before Gary Wilson and John Mooney built a 5th wicket partnership of 79 to help the Irish reach 133-9.
