Gayle misses out, West Indies to bat
West Indies stand in skipper Dwayne Bravo has won the toss and elected to bat first against Ireland as the hosts looking to get their campaign off to a winning start.
The big news from the toss is that skipper Chris Gayle has been ruled out with a back injury. Although Bravo indicated the big hitting opener was ok Gayle has decided not to take any risks and will miss the game.
Jerome Taylor and Sulieman Benn also miss out for the West Indies.
Ireland skipper William Porterfield would have batted as well and he is aiming to keep the West Indies to a total under 140 on such a slow wicket.
"The warm-up games have not gone our way, we need to bring all the positives together and play well. We have a lot options, especially in the spin department. We are confident and hope we restrict them to a low total," said Porterfield.
