O’Brien impresses with the bat for Ireland

Niall O’Brien smashed 62 runs to help Ireland seal a comprehensive 54 run victory over Zimbabwe in a t20 World Cup warm up match at the Moors Sports Club Ground in Colombo.

O’Brien dispatched four boundaries and two sixes during a 49 ball innings before he was dismissed by Richard Muzhange (1-38) with three balls to go in the Irish’s innings.

Kevin O’Brien (30) and Ed Joyce (29) offered support to help Ireland posts an imposing total of 181-5 which proved too much for Zimbabwe to chase down after they were restricted to a total of just 127-8.

Hamilton Masakadza (44) and Craig Ervine (24) offered some resistant’s but with wickets falling at regular intervals Brendon Taylor’s side were well beaten by the Irish.
