Impressive Pakistan cruise into the Super Eights

Pakistan cruised into the t20 World Cup Super Eights after a crushing eight wicket victory with eight balls to spare against Bangladesh at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

Faced with a difficult victory target of 176, Pakistan matched past Bangladesh thanks to an opening stand of 124 between Imran Nazir (75) and Mohammad Hafeez (45).

Despite two quick wickets from Abul Hasan (2-33) in the space of four deliveries, Pakistan continued their rampant innings thanks to Nasir Jamshed (29) and Kamran Akmal (22).

Despite scoring 175-6 Bangladesh were unable to secure a place in the Super Eights after they failed to restrict Pakistan to a total of less than 140 which they needed to crept through thansthanks to a better run rate.

Shakib Al Hasan scored 84 runs from just 54 deliveries which included eleven boundaries and two sixes during a massive innings for Bangladesh as they posted a total of 175-6.

Having lost their opening match against New Zealand quite heavily, Bangladesh came into the game knowing only a large victory would secure them a place in the Super Eights.
