West Indies out to spoil Sri Lankan party
West Indies skipper Darren Sammy has said the West Indies are aiming to spoil Sri Lanka's World Cup party by beating the hosts in today's final.
The West Indies come into the game thanks to a crushing 74 run victory over Australia and Sammy believes his side is peaking just at the right time.
"We're peaking at the right time, we wanted to have our own party. The crowd will be behind Sri Lanka, but the belief in the dressing-room is that we've done what we had to to get to the final," said the skipper.
"Now we're here, probably we'll have to bring our A-plus game. We needed our A game to beat Australia, and we'll have to play a touch better to beat Sri Lanka. We believe we can do that," he added.
