Trinidad and Tobago suffered more heartbreak after they conceded 16 runs in the final over before losing a super over against the New South Wales Blues in a thrilling match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Having suffered a last ball defeat against the Mumbai Indians on Monday night, the West Indians seemed on course for victory until Moises Henriques (18) and Pat Cummins (7) sensationally smashed three boundaries in the final over to tie the game.
Henriques repeated his heroics by smashing four boundaries off the bowling of Ravi Rampaul to leave Trinidad and Tobago facing a run chase of 19 from six balls.
With the tension mounting Lendli Simmons and Adrian Barath came up just short, scoring 15 runs before Simmons was caught off the final ball of the super over to hand victory to the Blues.
Having batted first, Trinidad and Tobago recorded a total of 139-6 thanks in part to Simmons who lead the way with a top score of 41
Faced with a run chase of 140, David Warner (38) and Simon Katich (23) laid the foundations for the Blues before Henriques heroics at the end.
