The Somerset Sabres sealed their place in the t20 Champions League semi finals thanks to a 12 run victory over the Chevrolet Warriors thanks to an impressive half century from Craig Kieswetter.
The Friends Life t20 runners up are now just one game away from reaching the final of the t20 Champions League having reached the group stages on the tournament after winning their qualifying group in Hyderabad.
The victory was set up by Kieswetter who smashed four boundaries and three sixes to help the Sabres record a competitive total of 146-4.
Rolef van der Merwe (32) and Jos Buttler (30) added valuable runs to leave last years t20 Champions League runners up facing a victory target of 147 to reach the semi finals.
JJ Smuts (38) and Colin Ingram (31) got the run chase off to a positive start but once the pair ad been removed within the space of five deliveries the Warriors run chase slowly ground to a halt.
With wickets falling at regular intervals the Warriors were restricted to a total of 134-8 thanks to some impressive bowling from Alfonso Thomas (2-16) and Murali Kartik (2-23).
With a semi final place secured the Sabres will have to wait until the result of the final group game between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the West End Redbacks to find out who they will play in the knock out stages.
