The Chennai Super Kings got back to winning ways thanks to a 13 run victory over the Pune Warriors at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk.
In a tight match, Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni made all the difference thanks to a quick fire 28 from just 12 balls which included three boundaries and one sixe to help the defending champions record a total of 164-5.
Faf Du Plessis (58) and Subramaniam Badrinath (57) got the Super Kings off to a great start thanks to an opening stand of 116 but once the pair had both been dismissed by Marlon Samuels (3-39) in the 16th over the defending champions lost their way slightly.
Suresh Raina (0) and Dwayne Bravo (12) quickly followed before Dhoni changed the cause of the game to leave the Warriors facing a run chase of 165 which proved too much.
Faced with a tricky run chase the visitors were never in total control of their innings once they lost openers Robin Uthappa (8) and Jessie Ryder (9) early on.
Sourav Ganguly (24), Samuels (26), Steve Smith (23) and Angelo Matthews (27) all started well but with no batsman able to push on the Warriors came up just short to lose their second straight match.
