Virender Shewag scored a half century to help the Delhi DareDevils move two point clear at the top of the IPL group standings thanks to a eight wicket victory over the
Pune Warriors at the Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium in Pune.
The DareDevils skipper scored 87 runs from 48 deliveries, including ten boundaries and three sixes to help his side chase down the Warriors total of 146-2 with four overs to spare.
Despite the early loss of Mahela Jayawatdene (18) who was run out, the DareDevils cruised to victor thanks in part to a 2nd wicket stand of 89 between Sehwag and Kevin Pietersen (27).
Having batted first the Warriors got over the early loss of Jessie Ryder (0) and Sourav Ganguly (1) to recover from 1-2 to record a total of 146-2 from their 20 overs.
The recover was lead by Manish Pandey (80) and Robin Uthappa (60) who shared a 3rd wicket stand of 144 but it proved to be in vain thanks to an impressive innings from Sehwag.
