The Deccan Chargers finally snapped their five game losing streak thanks to a 18 run victory over the Pune Warriors at the Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium in Pune.
Having finally won their first point of the tournament when their game against the Kolkata Knight Riders was abandoned because of rain on Tuesday night, the Chargers went one better thanks to an easy victory over the slumping Warriors.
Faced with a victory target of 178, the Warriors never worried the visitors thanks to some baffling batting during the middle of the innings which saw the required run rate increase to over 14 an over.
With the overs running out Robin Uthappa took 27 deliveries to score 29 runs while Marlon Samuels scored 3 runs from 8 deliveries as the home side batted themselves out the game.
Sourav Ganguly (23) and Manish Pandey (21) got the home side off to a good start but with wicket falling at regular intervals the Warriors slipped to back to back home defeats.
Having batted first the Chargers recorded a total of 177-4 thanks in part to Cameron White who regained his form during a 46 ball 78 which included six boundaries and five sixes.
