The Delhi DareDevils held their nerve to see off the Rajasthan Royals after they recorded a one run victory which went down to the last ball of the game at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi.
Faced with a victory target of 153, the Royals seemed on course for victory thanks to Ajinkya Rahane (84) but the DareDevils struck back in the final few overs to seal a tense victory.
The Royals seemed on course for victory with only 15 runs needed from the last two over but Morne Morkel struck back with the ball to leave the visitors needing 12 runs from the final over.
Rahane kept the pressure up by dispatching Umesh Yadav for a six but with two required off the final ball the DareDevils held on after Owais Shah (1) was run out scrambling for a single.
Former India skipper Rahul Dravid (70) offered perfect support before he was dismissed by Irfan Pathan at the end of the 14th other to end the Royals opening stand of 99.
Despite the lose Rahane and Brad Hodge (22) kept the Royals on course before Morne struck back to end the day on a high for the home side after a disappointing start.
The DareDevils after their top order failed to fire with Mahela Jayawardene (6) and Kevin Pietersen (5) both going cheaply in the opening 3 overs.
Virender Sehwag (63) offered hope with another impressive half century with wickets falling at regular intervals the Royals remained on top to leave themselves a victory target of 153.
