Rampant Super Kings cruise to big victory

The Chennai Super Kings proved to hot to handle as they seal a comprehensive nine wickets victory against the Delhi DareDevils at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The defending champions easily overcome the DareDevils total of just 114-5 with victory being secured with 28 balls to spare to strengthen their chances of securing a place on the IPL play offs.

Murali Vijay (48) and Michael Hussey (38) led the run chase with an opening stand of 75 to put the home side in control before Hussey was dismissed by Irfan Pathan in the 11th over.

Despite the lose Vijay and Suresh Raina (28) saw the Super Kings home to help them move up into 4th place in the IPL group standings with just two games to go.

It proved to be a disappointing day for the table topping DareDevils who lost Virender Sehwag (4), David Warner (8), Naman Ojha (3) and Mahela Jayawardene (8) inside the opening six overs.

Yogesh Nagar (43) and Venugopal Rao (27) led the recovery but having slipped to just 24-4 the DareDevils struggled to set any meaningful total to leave the Super Kings facing a relatively simple run chase.
