Pietersen still wants to play in t20 World Cup‎

Despite retiring from England's one day side Kevin Pietersen still has one eye on the t20 World Cup in Sri Lanka at the end of September.

The big hitting batsman confirmed he didn't want to retire from the shortest format of the game but was forced into the decision by the ECB who wouldn't let him pick and choose between ODI and t20 cricket.

"I hope a compromise can be found. If they want me to play the T20 World Cup I'll play it, but contracts are contracts," said Pietersen.

They'd have to change the rules to make that happen. I made the decision for schedule reasons. I can't carry on doing it all," he added.
