Yorkshire Carnegie sealed their place in the Friends Life t20 Final latter tonight thanks to an impressive 36 run victory over the Sussex Sharks at the SWALEC Stadium in Cardiff.

The win also guarantees Yorkshire a place in the t20 Champions League which takes place in South Africa at the start of October after they restricted the Sharks to a total of just 136-8.

The Sharks faced a victory target of 173 and despite a half century from opener Chris Nash (80) they were unable to trouble Yorkshire after they lost Luke Wright (3), Matthew Prior (2) and Scott Styris (3) cheaply.

Jonny Bairstow smashed two boundaries and three sixes during a 45 ball 68 to help Yorkshire record an impressive total of 172-6 after Andrew Gale won the toss and elected to bat first.

David Miller (47) offered support to help Yorkshire recover from 36-3 after Scott (3-22) picked up three early wickets as the Sharks looked to take control of the match.
