Irvine and Mascarenhas lead Royals attack

The Hampshire Royals took control of their semi final clash against the Somerset Sabres thanks to impressive bowling performances from Dimitri Mascarenhas and Sean Irvine at the SWALEC Stadium in Cardiff.

Mascarenhas (2-11) and Irvine (2-22) lead the way with the ball to leave the Royals facing a run chase of just 126 to seal a place in the Friends Life t20 Final against Yorkshire Carnegie later on tonight.

Having been put into bat the Sabres were restricted to a total of just 125-6 despite a fine individual performance by Craig Kieswetter (63) who at least gave the Sabres bowlers a target they might be able to defend.
